Black Excellence

FEBRUARY 19th 2019

To address this need, All People’s Afrikan Graduation and UCLA Residential Life are collaborating to debut the first annual Black Excellence ceremony. The purpose of Black Excellence is to give recognition to Black student leaders of the graduating class, whose accomplishments and work may have gone uncelebrated or unnoticed in the past. This is the first year that the ceremony will take place, and it is intended to be an annual celebration of the achievements and brilliance exhibited by Black students on campus. Black Excellence is to be held during Black History Month in an effort to align our students achievements as contributions that are affecting the collective Black community right here at UCLA and even across the nation. It will be an intimate ceremony to recognize students whose achievements fall under the pillars of Campus Engagement and Community Engagement.
